The 2007 Birstall Gala

The 2007 Gala was held on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July.

The Saturday youth band music event attracted larger crowds than ever and our sincere thanks go to all who performed: The Nowhere Men, Sweet Lady, Junk, Reborn, SKP, Kaleb, 110 Handslap & Myriadsonix.

The Sunday event drew the largest-ever crowds to the Open Air Church event to kick-off the Gala. Our thanks go to Churches Together and especially Revd Shakespeare for taking the Service.

There were over 55 stalls booked - some charity, some private ones - hopefully all raised lots of money for their causes. The day was bright and sunny and the fairground seemed to be doing a roaring trade.

The Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service held demonstrations of what 'not to do' in the case of a chip pan fire - our thanks to them.

Due to the recent bad weather, the tug-of-war event was not held.

We hope that everyone enjoyed the day, unfortunately the Proms in the Park Concert had to be cancelled due to the weather but we hope to be back next year!!
