Hiring the Hall
Please carefully read the Terms and Conditions for hiring the Hall.
EMERGENCY EXITS ARE SITUATED OFF THE HALL FOYER AND MAIN HALL AND ARE CLEARLY MARKED.

PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK FIRE EXITS.

THERE IS A '999' LINK TELEPHONE IN THE HALL FOYER.
|
THE USE OF CANDLES OR NAKED LIGHTS IN THE VILLAGE HALL PREMISES IS NOT PERMITTED (BIRTHDAY CAKE CANDLES ETC EXCEPTED).
|
THE VILLAGE HALL IS A NO SMOKING AREA. A CIGARETTE BIN IS PROVIDED OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR TO THE HALL.
|
THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE ALLOWED IN THE HALL FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES IS 120.
|
Hall Bookings are secured by payment of £25.00 which is deducted off the total amount - this amount is non-refundable if the Booking is cancelled.
an invoice will be sent approximately 3 weeks prior to the Booking date for the final amount.
A SEPARATE CHEQUE FOR £250.00* IS ALSO REQUESTED AT THIS TIME - THIS IS BANKED AND HELD FOR SEVEN DAYS AFTER THE BOOKING TO COVER LOSSES OR DAMAGE OR ADDTIONAL COSTS INCURRED. *DEPENDING ON EVENT

There is a fridge / freezer adjacent to the kitchenette and is provided for Hirers to use. Please do not move or disconnect the fridge / freezer.

Heating is included and the thermostat for the Hall is situated on the wall to the right of the door through to the kitchenette. The Hirer is advised to allow sufficient time to warm the Hall.
|
No apparatus can be left on the premises without prior agreement. Birstall Parish Council accept no responsibility whatsoever or any liability or loss however caused, in respect of the loss, theft, breakage etc of any possessions brought into or left on their premises.

Responsibility for the use and safety of electrical equipment (and / or other equipment specified at the time of Booking) brought onto the premises rests entirely with the Hirer.

FIRST AID KITS ARE LOCATED IN THE KITCHENETTE CUPBOARD AND MAIN KITCHEN.
|
The Booking periods run is sessions of:
9.00 am - 1.00 pm, 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm - 11.00pm*
*There are NO extensions to the 11.00 pm lock-up time.
The Caretaker will arrive on site at the specified time to unlock and back at the end time to lock-up.
If you hire the Hall for a double session / full day, the premises must not be left unattended.
Please contact us for hourly rates should you wish to hire for a smaller period.

If the room is not vacated by the time statd of the Booking Form, the additional time will be charged at the following rates:
Monday to Thursday - number of hours over-run x 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Friday - number of hours over-run x 2 time the hourly rate.
Saturday & Sunday - number of hours over-run x 3 time the hourly rate.
FOR EVENING BOOKINGS, ANY DELAY BEYOND 11.00pm WILL RESULT IN THE FULL LOSS OF THE DEPOSIT.

If you intend to sell alcohol, you MUST obtain the appropriate Licence under the Licensing Act 2003. Please ask if unsure.

The Parish Council holds an Entertainment Licence.
|
Crockery / Cutlery and Pots / Pans are provided for Hirers booking the main kitchen. Please ensure that all items are returned to the kitchen. If you are hiring the kitchen, the Hirer must advise what crockery and cutlery will be required and how many sets. If any items are missing after a Booking, the cost for a full replacement set will be deducted from the Deposit held by the Council.

Fly-posting is illegal. Events advertised in this way may be cancelled. If you wish us to promote your event, posters may be brought into the Parish Council Offices for display on the 12 Parish Council notice-boards around the Village.

ALL TABLES USED MUST BE FOLDED DOWN AND PUT AWAY AND CHAIRS RE-STACKED.

It is the responsibility of the Hirers to clean up after the booking and remove all rubbish from site. The premises must be left in the same pristine conditions in which they are hired out.

There is adequate car parking facilities on the School Lane Playing Fields Car Park. Please do not park on nearby roads or block access to the Village Hall, Day Centre or Council Offices.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY EVENT SHOULD UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE, FOR WHICH A FULL REFUND WILL BE GIVEN.
