A call went out for refreshments for the bands who play on the Saturday at the Birstall Rocks Music Event of the two-day Gala.

Mr Gerrit Koekemoer, the Manager of the new Starbucks at the Hallam Fields Development Birstall stepped forward and provided 40 goodie bags - each one filled with drinks and food - for every band member. The bands all play for free on the Saturday to promote their music and the goodie bags provide welcome sustenance and 'food for thought'.

First to play at the 'Birstall Rocks Concert' were STEREO HIGH.

Next up were local lads 'KALEB'.

Local singer SIMONE SWIFT entertained the crowds with her powerful and unique voice.

THE CARNABYS brought their own slice of the sixties inspired rock 'n' roll to the Gala. The band regularly play at venues in Leicester under the name of CARNABY STREET and at the Gala, the crowds of all ages enjoyed the energetic and melodic music, including five classic Beatles hits.
